You’ll be accountable for development, maintenance and administration of the processes required to gather, analyze, and coordinate financial drivers to support effective decision making.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Lead the execution of key business processes such as long-range planning, budgeting and stewardship reporting and analysis for the refinery
  • Act as financial performance advisor by supporting the development of strong financial acumen in the business
  • Translate operational performance into financial outcomes
  • Provide fit for purpose performance reporting, and support the business in crystalizing key messages
  • Highlight trends relating to key drivers of cost and capital expenditures
  • Assists with the development of targets that support the integrated planning process
  • Coordinate with central finance teams to deliver insights to key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the refinery leadership team and internal finance teams

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of relevant oil and gas experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or engineering
  • A recognized accounting designation (CPA, CFA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent designation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the oil and gas industry
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with SAP and the Microsoft Suite of tools and exposure to automation

  • Strong communication skills that enable you to communicate business results concisely to various levels of the organization

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
