SUMMARY
The Finance Manager is accountable for financial planning and analysis, and process development. The candidate should have a track record of effective collaboration and exemplary interpersonal skills while embodying a roll-up the sleeves attitude to attain common goals and objectives.
As a versatile team member, you have the ability to strategically manage competing priorities while interacting and influencing both business leads and customers with financial insights that drive bottom line results or improve customer satisfaction.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
People Leadership
Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Full involvement with recruiting talent.
- Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members.
- Objectively recommends compensation adjustments.
- Manages all aspects of performance.
PLANNING AND ANALYSIS
- Manage annual planning and analysis cycles.
- Directing and managing FP&A activities.
- Liaise with business finance leaders to ensure timely submission of inputs and review for accuracy.
- Provide commentary and analysis to support presentation material for Senior Executives.
- Conducts in-depth financial analysis and makes recommendations.
- Responds to requests for ad hoc analysis.
FINANCIAL REPORTING & COMPLIANCE
- Manage the monthly/quarterly/year-end financial reporting process.
- Preparation and compilation of financial reporting packages.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the financial information.
- Develop reports to provide accurate and high-quality financial insights.
- Collaborate with the client finance teams on month end close activities.
- Preparation of all reporting deadline calendars.
PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
- Lead a review of existing finance processes to identify opportunities for streamlining or improving effectiveness of gathering and reporting financial information from various client accounts.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- University degree in Finance, accounting or business.
- Minimum of 5+ of Financial Planning & Analysis experience.
- Systems savvy: Advance user of Excel, experience managing large volumes of data.
- Knowledge of Vena Solutions is an asset.
- Fully developed leadership skills to manage an individual contributor.
- A strong communicator well known for clarity in communicating complicated concepts and information.
- Willingness to roll up the sleeves and work on the front line.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts with key stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- CPA, CMA, CGA, CA designation is required.
