Who we need

Reporting to and collaborating with the Director, Business Planning, we are looking for a Finance Manager to join us as an integral member of Yorkville University’s Business Planning team. You will work across our academic and corporate functions to drive strategic initiatives and insightful reporting for the business. You will work closely with the operational and academic leadership, supporting finance rhythms, and take ownership of consolidated reporting and analysis, automation, and process development. Additionally, you will support areas such as finance system optimization, treasury and cash flow monitoring that are centrally led by the Business Planning team.

This is a hybrid opportunity with the requirement to be available to work on-site in Toronto up to twice a week.

What you will focus on:

• Consolidated financial results for Yorkville University/Toronto Film School (YU/TFS). You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, planning, variance analysis, etc.
• Partner. You will collaborate with finance team members and business leaders to track and develop reports and evaluate the results, trends and drivers. You will be the key contact for shareholder queries and data requests, including preparing and presenting periodic executive, board and shareholders reporting.
• Quality assurance. You will support process improvement and standardization across the YU/TFS. You will assist with streamlining and documentation of processes and policies to facilitate the ERP implementation and report automation.
• Reporting. You will oversee monthly reporting package preparation, providing insights, analysis and reporting on financial and performance metrics to academic and operational leaders. You will be responsible for quarterly compliance reports, as well as for preparing weekly cash flow positions and projections.

What you bring:

• The background. You have a CPA, CFA, or MBA designation and 4+ years of finance, accounting, and data analytics experience. You have practical knowledge of accounting and financial principles, practices, and applications, including budgeting, planning, and reporting. You have direct experience successfully developing and completing a quarterly and annual financial process. You are solution and process-oriented. You have financial modeling experience and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• The interpersonal skills. You have effective and flexible communication skills and confidence in presenting to senior executives and decision-makers. You have a proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, building trusting relationships with team members and throughout the organization. You have an appreciation for diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds and an interest in continuous improvement and adopting recommendations from teams and colleagues.
