Role Overview

This position, reporting to the Manager, Finance on the Financial Planning and Analysis team requires an individual with strong analytical and influence skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. The candidate should have experience in a Finance organization (particularly financial planning and analysis and business unit support). This individual will need to establish strong ties with the business while managing the needs and interests of many stakeholders, namely Fidelity Canada senior management, Fidelity International and external parties.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and provide insights to a number of finance-led initiatives to drive decisions throughout the firm. This includes developing Management Segment reporting to identify areas of potential efficiencies and further enhancing the scorecards for all business units.
  • Track key finance deliverables across the team and identify key deliverables and dependencies. Act as a liaison between the FP&A, Decision Support and Business Unit Support teams so that deliverables are met and information is openly shared to eliminate work redundancy.
  • Work directly with the Corporate Finance senior team on ad hoc initiatives and projects in supporting of the FP&A, Decision Support and Treasury teams. This includes preparation of board and meeting materials and providing support to the Fidelity Canada organization
  • Conducts and documents complex financial and economic analysis in support of strategic decision-making initiatives with limited direction
  • Provide financial analysis and/or pricing support for emerging business opportunities, trends and financial results
  • Develop, manage, and regularly present a reporting framework, including key success measures and scorecards for the business unit (s) supporte
  • Constantly strive to communicate results in new and innovative ways that allows management to assess business performance and make appropriate decisions
  • Assist in the development of financial forecasts and related annual budget
  • Identify and implement solutions which improve efficiency and effectiveness through the elimination, simplification, and automation of processes
  • Design new reports and frameworks to address needs of business and proactively anticipates future requirements
  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholder and management across the organization

What We’re Looking For

  • University/College Degree, with a focus in business (Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or Mathematics/Statistics) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a financial analyst role within a finance department
  • Experience in financial analysis and modeling, reporting, budgeting and/or business planning
  • Financial Services industry experience preferred
  • Completion of or working towards a financial/accounting designation (e.g. CPA) and/or CFA or MBA is preferred
