Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Finance Co-op Student for the 2024 Winter Term to work with our Finance Team.

This is a temporary student role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

Education Required: Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program from the following areas:

University Business/Commerce Degree student in good academic standing

Strong academic performance and a desire to excel

Proven leadership in professional, athletic, school or community pursuits

Interest in the shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry and a desire to join an exciting, fast-paced organization

Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning new technology

Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

Performing standard journal entries

Reconciliation of GL accounts

Compilation of various financial reports

Use of latest tools and technologies to complete data analysis and visualizations

Professional development and mentorship opportunities
