Procurement and Contract Management team within the Child Care Corporate Finance Branch, ensures that contracted services for Child Care are organized in a manner that promotes quality services, quality improvements and complies with government core and ministry policy and standards for contracted services.

The Procurement Finance Officer provides expertise and recommendations regarding procurement, contract management, and financial and administrative matters, and supports contract oversight activities that promotes and monitors compliance with government core and ministry specific policy and standards for contracted services.

This position supports evidence-based funding through value for money analysis of contracted services and related internal operations. The Procurement Finance Officer provides guidance, assistance and support to staff involved in procurement and contracting; and monitors, analyzes and evaluates contracted services, internal practices, systems and procedures. Responsibilities include conducting analytical, research and development work related to the provision of contracted services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-secondary degree in business administration, economics, commerce or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered OR;
  • Professional accounting designation (such as a CPA,CA, CGA, CMA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in contract and/or financial management.

Preference may be given to candidates:

  • With experience in financial or value for money audit/review.
  • With supervisory experience.
  • Who identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
