The General Accounting Administrator is part of our IT & Cyber business unit on our Dapasoft Team.
About the role:
The General Accounting Administrator responsibilities include but are not limited to cash/payment management, preparation of account reconciliations and reports, preparation and filing of tax remittances and keeping financial records updated. Accounting Software is used to process business transactions, disbursements and employee expenses.
Your Day to Day Responsibilities:
Payments management (direct deposits, cheques, on-line payments, wire transfers)
Timely cash entries in accounting software, including reconciliation of cashed cheques
Monitoring cash balance in bank and cash flow monthly/quarterly
Review and validation of entered claims
Expense processing, including generation of purchase orders, and invoice entry into accounting software
Sales taxes reconciliation, reporting and remittance.
Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation, including bank reconciliation
Processing journal entries
Month End and Year End reconciliations
Preparing monthly reports to management
Payroll processing for employees on a semi-monthly, or monthly basis through accounting software
Reconciliations of payroll for each pay period, and monthly for accounting purposes
Ensuring that the payroll withholding remittances are completed accurately and timely
The Skills and Experience You Have:
3-5 years accounting or bookkeeping experience
Post-secondary education in Accounting a strong asset
Excellent grasp of accounting fundamentals (i.e. debits and credits, subledger to GL reconciliation)
Openness to new ideas, sound decision making and independent thinking
High attention to detail combined with focus on deadlines and ability to drive things to completion
