Responsibilities
Reporting to the IM/IT Medical Imaging Manager, via Team Lead, the IM/IT Systems Analyst will be responsible for effective operation of supported Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiology software applications.
Responsibilities include evaluation, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of information management and technology solutions, projects and services across NSHA, IWK and its many external clients. The IM/IT Systems Analyst collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOE strategy.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Primary support for a variety of Medical Imaging applications; tasked with working closely with front line clinical staff.
- Information gathering and documentation of business requirements and end user workflow impacts as they relate to IT systems and processes.
- Prioritize initiatives and ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Ensures IT systems, processes and procedures are implemented and maintained to support the effective and safe delivery of patient information to care providers in a variety of settings.
- Establish and maintain working relationships between the Clinical and Business stakeholders and IM/IT to determine appropriate IT solutions.
- Collaborate with other team members, vendors and clinical stakeholders
- Participate in clinical IM IT projects.
- Complete other duties as assigned in relation to the position description
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in an Information Technology or Health Related discipline (with Medical Imaging preferred). Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology of Health-Related field
- Experience working in one or more clinical care settings considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and prepare documentation of business requirements, use cases, workflow mapping, business process mapping and implementation plans
- Foundation level experience planning and performing software testing: functional, unit, integration, system, user acceptance, load and stress testing
- Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications
- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team setting (technical resources, program manager, clinical stakeholders) in order to meet program needs
- Ease with preparing and leading workshops and presentations in order to Identify program goals, objectives and priorities
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to balance multiple priorities and to manage time effectively.
- Ability to relay or explain issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff
- Ability to troubleshoot and document issues and problems and implement resolution using clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to document and solve issues
- Organizational Skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of HL7, networking principles and active directory concepts considered an asset.
- Certification in Business Analysis, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organizational change management an asset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work
