Yabu Pushelberg is seeking to hire an intermediate level industrial designer. The successful candidate will be passionate about luxury design and interiors and intuitively understand the subtlety and detail required to develop high end furniture, fixtures and products for exclusive international clients and manufacturers. The successful candidate’s skills and style will complement the existing team’s abilities.

Job Duties

• Consult with client or internal designers to establish product requirements
• Original concept development through sketching, 3D modeling and rendering
• Developing detailed technical drawings and overseeing the prototyping process
• Conduct research into cost, properties of production materials and methods of production
• Working closely with the Industrial Design team, Interior teams, Project Management and Design Directors
• Prepare manufacturing drawings, specifications and guidelines for production and construct prototype of design
• Consult with engineers and production staff during manufacturing stage.

Terms of Employment: Full Time Permanent

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of practical work experience
• A degree in Industrial or Furniture Design
• Previous experience in luxury hospitality and retail environment
• Knowledge of and experience partnering with or sourcing European fabricators of products and materials
• Strong portfolio demonstrates an innate ability to create work aligned with the Yabu Pushelberg aesthetic
• Proficient in 3D modeling software: SolidWorks and/or Rhino
• Knowledge of associated rendering packages and/or plug-ins
• Strong sketching ability, visualization skills
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and techniques; with hands on experience building furniture and products
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), strong graphic and presentation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to switch and prioritize between several projects or tasks at once, working independently and within a team
• Ability to switch between different design genres and styles, on a project-to-project basis

Expected salary: $64500 – 72500 per year
