Job description: About the IT Director position

We are looking for an IT Director to control our company’s Information Technology functions in our company, ensuring that they are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications. Your duties will include leading a team of IT managers and managing the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.

We expect you to be very knowledgeable in IT and computer systems, have a solid technical background and be able to manage and motivate people. You also should have solid experience in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives.

IT Director responsibilities are:

Control all information technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals

Review the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs

Develop IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management

Explore the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency

Participate in purchasing efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software, controlling budget and reporting on expenditures

Detect needs for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report these issues to upper management

Consult and guide IT managers and supervise computer scientists, technicians and other professionals

Maintain relationships with vendors and create cost-efficient contracts

IT Director requirements are:

3+ years’ experience of working on an IT director or other relevant position

Significant experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

Significant experience in controlling information technology budget

In-depth knowledge of computer systems, both hardware and software, networks and so on

Strong organizational and leadership skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills * BSc or BA degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant area; MSc or MA degree will be a bonus
