The Role

Cognota is a rapidly growing, remote-first, SaaS venture building a category creating product for Learning & Development teams. As we scale, the complexity of our technical operations is growing and calls for an enthusiastic individual to take on these challenges.

This opportunity is not your typical IT Operations role. Reporting to our CISO, you’ll help shape our IT culture, enhance information security practices, forge order from chaos, and redefine our team’s relationship with technology. You’ll design and implement our corporate IT practices, collaborating closely with leaders across the organization to elevate the end-user experience.

This marks the first hire for Cognota’s IT organization and the role requires someone consultative, comfortable working across teams, and driven by transparency, quality, and infectious enthusiasm. Your ability to learn swiftly, communicate openly, and embrace growth is more critical than any specific experience you bring to the role

Thematic Responsibilities * IT Infrastructure: You will take full ownership of the company’s business-facing technology infrastructure and strive to improve the experience of corporate IT end-users. All IT workflows are SaaS/cloud based and we aspire to keep things that way.

• Information Security: You will contribute significantly to the strengthening of the company’s InfoSec practices, helping to achieve global cybersecurity designations, and safely administer confidential dataflows, netflows, systems, applications and endpoints.
• Process Automation: You will automate as much as possible and aspire to never do the same manual task twice.
• Functional Leadership: You will represent the IT function within the business and collaborate with diverse functions to understand and alleviate their challenges with corporate IT.
• Versatility: You are comfortable with the pace of change inherent to a growing venture and be responsive to the shifting priorities, context switching and ambiguity that comes with it.

Your capability

• You have 5+ years of experience administering corporate cloud applications and managing a fleet of global endpoints.
• You have excellent command of the English language and are fluent in both business and engineering dialects.
• Curiosity is your superpower and you embrace greenfield challenges that require out of the box thinking and prioritization.
• You have experience with cloud-based platforms such as: Google Workplace, ManageEngine, Crowdstrike Falcon & Insight, RiskRecon, Atlassian JIRA, Veracode, Github, AWS, ManageEnginer, Slack, and Salesforce.
• You have experience with cloud-native IT practices and the ability to support and administer Windows, Linux, and Mac endpoints.
• You are proficient in 2+ scripting languages suitable for automation and integration (Bash, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, JavaScript, etc).
• You have experience with business system integrations via API (Google SSO, Salesforce, AWS, Github).
• You are experienced with OS imaging, configuration management, policy implementation, and user lifecycle support.

• You have a post-secondary education in a relevant field of study.
