PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY:
As part of West Fraser’s Information Technology team, the IT Procurement Purchaser will be responsible for coordinating the IT department’s purchasing of products and services from various vendors and suppliers in order to ensure that the needs of the business are being met, understanding of purchasing practices, service level agreements, and to act as a single point of entry and exit for the third party relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as liaison between IT team members and various global hardware, software, and service vendors to ensure
- Quote requests – Price comparison between vendors
- Orders are accurate (PRs and POs)
- Received when expected
- RMAs are handled promptly and efficiently
- Answer all inquiries from IT staff and vendors
- Work closely with AP to ensure orders are received by the teams and get paid via the correct POs
- PST self assessment for Microsoft and Oracle
- Received but not invoiced (RBNI) report – Investigate orders that are not closed properly
- AP on hold report – Investigating on hold payment issues – receiving issues, invoice errors
- Contract Management
- Maintain records of all IT contracts (SOWs, licenses, hardware, etc…)
- Understand the terms and conditions for the contracts – notification periods, renewal dates, owner.
- Setup alerts for contract owners to ensure contract reviews and change requests are completed within the contract terms and conditions
- Work with Fixed assets group to get AFE, Fixed assets and account code combinations created for the teams to order capitalized items
- Report on license usage and compliance for renewals and true-ups
- Participate in budget development and measurement of costs actually incurred on an as-needed basis
- Inventory management
- Loading assets into inventory for new equipment
- Creating catalogue items for inventory
- Managing the WFM inventory with Vendors – placing orders to meet orders.
Work Conditions:
- Occasional after-hours coverage to respond to urgent or severe security incidents
- Travel requiring a valid driver’s license
- Occasional travel in Canada and to and from the United States of America
- Posting locations: Quesnel BC or Vancouver BC
