The Role:
We are looking for a designated accounting professional for the position of Manager, Finance. This individual will be responsible for financial reporting, IFRS Research and system administration for the IG Mackenzie Real Property Fund (IRPF).
The IRPF has over $4.5 billion of assets under management and the team provides effective financial reporting on property valuations, operational forecasting and oversees a portfolio of 69 income producing properties, and 5 development properties.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of IRPF semi-annual and annual financial reporting
Coordination for the annual and interim audit engagement both external and internal
Overseeing financial reporting for development and joint-ventures properties
Yardi system administration
Provide accounting research and support to implement IFRS changes for IRPF and Finance team
Optimize and maintain internal control systems and processes
Periodic review of property income variances to ensure accurate reporting of financial results
Identify systems and continuous improvement opportunities to enhance processes and information
Other projects and tasks as may be assigned by management
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree with a professional accounting designation (CPA)
Minimum five years related experience in a financial reporting area
Demonstrated expertise in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and planning
Experience and knowledge of Yardi or other real estate software would be an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP and PowerPoint
Ability to learn and use new software programs
Commitment to excellence of processes – ability to identify opportunities and execute plans of action to improve efficiencies
Well-developed organizational and time management skills
Strong knowledge of financial modelling and ability to work with large sets of data.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to deal with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
