Purpose
Global Finance Reporting is a finance function providing financial management and analytical support to Executive Management, as well as to the Business Line management in Canadian Banking, Global Banking & Markets and EO areas.
The Manager will be a member of the Global Finance Reporting unit reporting to the Senior Manager. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the Residual Profit Split review and analysis, EO/Other Business Line reporting, and GBM tax analysis and allocation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the thorough review and analysis of the quarterly Residual Profit Split (RPS) results, and provide insightful commentary for material changes at the legal entity level.
- Maintain and develop strong controls over operational and analytical processes.
- Resolve queries arising from business line partners and regional finance teams with respect to RPS.
- Scenario analysis and actual vs forecast analysis.
- GBM tax allocation and analysis.
- Liaise closely with business line Finance partners to maintain knowledge of emerging business line issues related to tax that impact various business lines and to effectively resolve them.
- Executive Office and Other Segment Business Line reporting including Blue Book analysis.
- Participate in projects as assigned. Identity and act upon efficiency opportunities.
Experience / Education:
- Post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting. An MBA or professional accounting designation is preferred.
- Solid understanding of financial and management accounting standards.
- Working knowledge/experience in business line tax allocations and transfer pricing methodology.
- Strong quantitative and financial analytical skills. Ability to independently analyze financial data in details to identify issues and key drivers in variances.
- Highly organized with demonstrated experience in solving problems and making sound decisions in time pressured environments.
- Proven ability to deliver end to end against established processes.
- A solid understanding of effective controls over accuracy and completeness of data.
- Strong team player with proven ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and to produce accurate and complete information under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills such as the ability to communicate findings/analysis and present ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficient knowledge of PeopleSoft EGL, OBI, Excel, Power Point and Adobe
