What will your typical day look like?
As part of this role, you will be expected to focus on the following areas:
- Work with Managing Directors to proactively develop M&A and capital raise ideas for clients
- Responsible for executing and closing local market and cross-border debt and equity transactions, including the preparation of marketing materials, potential lender / investor lists, facilitating due diligence, negotiating, and working with legal counsel to prepare definitive credit or purchase / subscription documentation.
- Maintain relationships with financial sponsors and other private investors interested in North American businesses
- Research and identify prospective buyers/targets for M&A deals and financiers for capital raise assignments for cross-border transactions
- Manage buyer and investor outreach including managing all internal risk processes and external regulatory requirements, as well as coordinating with the other member firms as necessary
About the team
An exciting opportunity is available to join DCF’s Canadian team as a Vice President / Manager. As part of this role, you will have significant exposure working on cross-border transactions, particularly focused on executing transactions with our US practice. Once the candidate is familiar with our Canadian business (expected to take 3-6 months), a 12 to 18 month secondment to our US Investment banking team (headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina) is required. Therefore, the candidate must be eligible for a US work permit (which the firm will arrange). Additionally, the candidate would need to complete the licensing process for US securities (Series 7 and 63).

In addition to the work permit and licensing requirements identified above, ideal candidates will possess most, or all, of the following key attributes:
- Experience in M&A advisory and/or Investment Banking
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the client business and its drivers
- Sound financial modeling and valuation experience
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to exercise professional judgment on engagements by providing proactive solutions and recommendations
- Organization and comfort balancing multiple engagements and responsibilities
