Playing a leadership role in the Finance Transformation, reporting dually to the Head, Finance Transformation and the Head, Finance Technology Transformation, this role will have Enterprise impact delivering on the process redesign, change management and finance data governance for key Finance Transformation projects, including the completion of the General Ledger implementation. In this highly visible role, you will lead a highly engaged team and work directly with finance and technology executives to create meaningful change. We are looking for a seasoned Process Automation and redesign leader with proven experience delivering finance programs including AI/ML initiatives. Expertise in data governance would be an asset.
Provides program leadership for a line of business (LOB) or function. Delivers complex, multi-year projects and programs, which may span multiple geographies and functions, includes communicating the organizational impacts of change and providing proactive, creative solutions to the executive team with respect to project and change management activities.
Accountabilities:
Builds a strong network and relationships at executive levels
Leads projects with annual budget of $1MM -$10MM+
Typical project horizon of 3-5+ years
Develops and implements project plans that include setting the vision, standards, and operational and resource plans
Builds and manages a team capable of delivering the required performance. Team includes project managers/senior project managers as well as individuals from across the organization; may also include internal/external consultants and vendors
Sets context and direction for the team on the strategic vision and the tactics required to fulfill business objectives
Creates and implements training and development plans, as well as providing ongoing coaching for direct reports
Optimizes team integration by being clear about individual mandates and how team members should collaborate to fulfill objectives
Leads strategic initiatives focusing on horizontal alignment across functions to improve productivity, profitability, and customer experience.
Leads all aspects of the project from definition through to implementation in alignment with project strategy, standards, and guidelines
Assigns senior project managers across businesses and geographies, in order to support the executive sponsors in their successful delivery of strategic initiatives
As a member of the business/group leadership team, provides guidance on project execution.
Manages usage of enterprise tools and templates, and develops tools specific to business needs, as required
Research’s project management best practice, and stays current with industry and competitive developments by engaging with internal/external partners and experts
Introduces best practices in line with corporate standards and the Bank’s overall strategic direction. Makes recommendations on their potential deployment across the enterprise
Provides change management expertise to initiatives
Ensures that Project Management Standards are effectively applied across all initiatives
Ensures project risks are managed in a manner consistent with the Enterprise Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF); acts as the first line of defense, responsible for day-to-day management of risk
Partners with Business Operations to monitor, report and track project outcomes (scope, schedule, budget)
Delivers project on time and on budget
Qualifications:
University degree/college diploma and/or 12+ years of related work experience
Expert knowledge and of experience in process automation and design deployments
Knowledge and experience of AI/ML with demonstrated ability to deliver on time to deliver value
Expert knowledge and of experience in project management with demonstrated ability to deliver on time and on budget
Strong working knowledge of core BMO leadership competencies including knowledge of the business environment and products, understanding of the workings of the organization and procedures, and proficiency in the use of standards/tools and methodologies, as achieved either by direct BMO experience or industry equivalent experience.
