WSP is currently seeking an Operational Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team, to lead the accounting team. The position will be based at our Montreal office. This position reports directly to the Corporate Finance Director at WSP Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate the preparation and the analysis of the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial information, for WSP Canada, within the established corporate deadlines
• Lead a team of accounting analysts
• Continuously review, improve, standardize and streamline accounting processes and policies
• Develop effective financial performance metrics to improve decision making
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards
• Collaborate and support the financial directors and the managers of the operational business lines
• Participate in the preparation of diverse monthly, quarterly and yearly financial presentations to Operations and Finance leaders
• Support the Corporate Finance Director in the establishment of new accounting processes and policies
• Apply rigorously the financial internal controls and participate in the different steps of the testing process and deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional accounting designation or pertinent accounting experience
• A minimum of 5 years of managerial and leadership experience
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and proactive problem-solving skills
• Experience collaborating with multiple business partners and professionals located in various locations;
• Proficiency to translate financial information and ideas to non-financial professionals
• Autonomous, collaborative with strong communication and interpersonal skills
