Position Summary
We are looking for a relief full time Perinatal Nurse who is a patient focused team player to join our team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Royal Inland Hospital’s Perinatal Department is a very active and busy unit. We will be transitioning into a brand new, state of the art Clinical Services Building in the summer of 2022. There is a great mix of services provided by this department including gyne surgery, 12 bed unit with spacious private rooms and we provide highly specialized care including perinatal substance use management. We are also part of a high-risk obstetrics hub and have a level 2B nursery – just to name a few! At RIH, we accommodate about 1,300 deliveries per year, and high risk antepartum patients to 30 weeks gestation.

The Perinatal nurse practices in a perinatal clinical setting and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client-centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

This is a relief full time position until approximately June 19, 2022 or return of the incumbent.

Shifts are 12 hours, shift times are 07:30 to 19:30 and 19:30 to 07:30.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

Current Fetal Health Surveillance.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) within 2 years.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years.
