The Safety Coordinator (Mine Rescue) reports to the Safety Manager.

What you will do:

• Model our core value of safety by enabling a culture in which you are actively contributing to a safe work environment
• Report to the Management Safety, Health & Security
• Monitor corrective action completions utilizing the ETQ data base system
• Assist in accident investigations including facilitating TapRoot investigations as required
• Tour UG on a regular basis, minimum 25% field time, which includes safety interactions with both supervisors and workers

• Work closely with Training department in the development and presentation of safety training materials
• Responsible for effective Mine Rescue training

• Responsible for the organizing of in house Mine Rescue competition and preparation
• Responsible for the preparation, training and coaching of division’s representing team at the annual Provincial Mine Rescue competition
• The incumbent will serve as an alternate for the UG OHC & assists the O.H.C. in an advisory capacity
• Promote a good working relationship with Government Departments

• Incumbent will be proficient in TapRoot system of A/I investigation, ETQ reporting/tracking database and EAM requisitioning and work requests system

• Tabulate and monitor all Safety Standard requirements and provide monthly updates to person(s) responsible
• Distribute safety department communications where applicable
• Show commitment, promote, and participate fully in the Nutrien Safety System and SHE performance
• Maintain and continually build upon knowledge base for safety in the mining industry
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with company policies & rules, as well as laws and regulations that apply to this position

What you will bring:

• Grade 12 diploma required, additional education or training in a relevant field may also be considered
• Strong commitment to safety
• Internal applicants may be considered in lieu of meeting minimum education and/or experience requirements
• Experience in underground potash operations or industrial plant environment
• Mine rescue experience
• Experience in safety and safety systems
