Job title: Senior Administrative Officer – Bilingual
Job description: The Opportunity
Do you have a love of both official languages, an innate desire to organize and improve the process and thrive in managing a high volume, professional team? This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, customer-service oriented administrator seeking a career growth opportunity. Our client, a well-established and respected national translation firm, has continued to grow during this downturn and they are seeking a bilingual candidate to join them on a full-time basis effective immediately.
Your New Role
This position, reporting to the Vice President of Operations, is the key point person overseeing all aspects of workflow between a large, dynamic client base throughout the translation process from pre-translation, assignment, translation, revision, and delivery phases of our client’s process. Due to the nature of this precise work, you will deal directly with both clients and internal staff processing requests, and triage documents, while problem-solving and overseeing quality control.
The Senior Administrative Officer must be a proven multi-tasker, with superior critical thinking skills and excellent judgment. If you are meticulous, can focus on accuracy and demonstrate high attention to detail while remaining adaptable in a fast-paced and constantly changing high-stress environment, this is the job for you.
Keys to Success
To succeed in this role, will have a minimum of 5 years’ cumulative administrative experience and be able to demonstrate a strong grasp of team leadership and project coordination. Always acting in a highly professional and customer-oriented manner, you must have excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English. You will have a post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution and valid Secret Clearance. You will have intermediate to advanced computer literacy and solid experience working in an MS Office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and performing data entry, manipulation, verification, or retrieval in an automated system.
If you are the ideal proponent, you will thrive on being organized and efficient in a high-volume environment, with a genuine drive to organize and improve the process and have excellent attention to detail. You will also be mature, reliable, and resourceful.
What We Offer
This is a key role with an opportunity for growth in a tightly knit and growing Indigenous translation firm. Compensation will be awarded commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package is offered including an RSP plan. These professional offices are located just off the Queensway, roughly 15 minutes southwest of downtown Ottawa – amidst great services and shopping. There is free parking and excellent public transit.
Operational requirements: Availability, willingness, and ability to work overtime as required including evenings, nights, and weekends*. This position requires a workweek of 50 hours before overtime. THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION ONLY.
Please note that it is expected that a shortlist of candidates may be asked to perform a job-related task as an assessment tool for the hiring company.
