Job description: Our client is a Canadian owned manufacturing business with a rich history and a bright future. Located in Southwestern Ontario, in close proximity to Kitchener Waterloo, their operations are known to the local communities they are actively involved with.

A newly created Senior Controller position has been developed to lead the finance and accounting team as the organization progresses through a period of evolution, development, and growth. Reporting to the President and leading a small team, the Senior Controller will balance the responsibility of a seat at the senior leadership table, while remaining a hands-on team player working on tactical day to day tasks.

These tasks include but are not limited to managing the periodic internal and external financial reporting, providing variance analysis to the leadership team. Leading the annual and quarterly financial forecasting and budgeting process for multiple legal entities. Implementing and developing internal controls and ensuring payroll processing is timely and accurate. Working on CapEx and OpEx expenditures and getting involved in future M&A activity will also be key value add areas of responsibility.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:

• CPA designation
• 10-15 years career experience, with time spent in a people leadership capacity
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, as the head of, or number two in finance
• Experience with cost accounting is highly desirable
• Experience working in or exposure to the agriculture space is highly desirable
• Experience implementing or upgrading ERP and accounting systems is desirable
• The ability to work with autonomy and diligence, taking full responsibility for all financial matters
• Advanced relationship building and stakeholder management skills
• A continuous improvement mindset and the drive to instill this within the function
