Microsoft Americas is the largest of 3 regions of Microsoft Commercial Business audit covers the US, Canada and LATAM and generates over 50% of World Wide (WW) revenue. The Microsoft Canada subsidy is an multi-year award winning Subsidy and last year was awarded the Excellence in Finance Subsidy of the year Award. The Canada Finance team has the responsibility to partner with sales and marketing teams and be a bridge between corporate and regional functions. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team, and you will be part of the WW Modern Workplace & Security (MW&S) community to make each other great and build on each other.

The Modern Workplace & Security (MW&S) Senior Finance Manager is the Finance partner to the Canada Enterprise Specialist Unit Team (STU) Leadsand Go-to-Market (GTM) Lead, Finance Leads at Corporate, Area and Regional Leads, and other product-aligned business leaders. The successful candidate will develop deep subject matter expertise on MW&S solutions to deliver actionable insights to business partners as well as to the Segments.

The Senior Finance Manager drives upsell motions and growth. This is a very exciting opportunity to drive Modern Work & Security growth in Canada. This role is part of the MCAPS Field Intelligence team and will have a significant impact in shaping our approach and strategy by amplifying the voice of Canada and the Americas within Corp and helping land initiatives in Field. Responsibilities:

Partnership

  • Partnering with the Canada leaders to drive cloud growth in the Region through deep Cloud analytics forward and backwards looking.
  • Understand competitive market insights, provide thought leadership to challenge Business leads around new business opportunities / growth road map landscape.
  • Provide insights to the Area/Regional Finance Teams in a way that can be easily actioned. Leverage Corporate models and analytics, provide insights and follow up with Areas in a digestible manner which can be easily leveraged.
  • Take a lead role driving MW&S Cloud performance via providing insights and opportunities modelling, focus on customer adds as per scorecard
  • Increase premium mix, understand and drive upsell motions to higher profit products (M365, E3 to E5) and help accelerate new workloads Growth Bet, Copilo
  • Balance growth through our existing consuming customers and Customer Adds.
  • Deal and pipeline insights

Processes

  • Accountable for finance content within Regional Rhythm of Business (ROB) (e.g. Quarterly Business reviews, Month End results, Forecast)
  • Present at Canada MW&S Leadership (LT) meetings and Asia Chief Financial Officer (CFO) meetings
  • Ongoing assistance to the Finance LT
  • Ownership on selected RoB components

People

  • Work closely with Regional/ Area Candada (CSA) Finance managers and partner with the WW Community Lead to focus on the key insights and projects to accelerate our growth.
  • Identify finance best practices and share them broadly within Asia and WW
  • Connect the dots and help Field finance team land the Corp strategy or escalate issues and help needed.

This position involves a significant amount of exposure to executive management and requires the ability to communicate ideas and analysis effectively, thereby influencing business decisions, so executive maturity, business acumen and presentation and communication skills need to be your strengths.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstration of business partnering capabilities and analytical strength. You will have a deep understanding of Microsoft Revenue Tools and Processes and ideally with experience as Segment or Product Controllership in a subsidiary/Area, proven track record of achieving exceptional results through influence where no direct line authority exists.
