This role reports to the Senior Director, Finance, Rogers for Business. The Senior Manager will be accountable for managing and driving the Business, Sales, and Product teams to deliver on key performance metrics to achieve financial targets across the Wireless and Cable portfolios. The successful candidate will be a leader that commands a strong business acumen and have analytic skills to help bring teams together to meet a common goal.
What you will be doing:
- Manage and lead weekly scorecard reviews with key business stakeholders to provide transparency, trending, and results on key performance metrics, including IBRO, HW Cash spend, Subscriber volumes, etc.
- Leveraging and incorporating key performance metrics into financial models to assess the revenue outcome for planning and forecasting purposes (i.e. LEs, Commits, Budget, LRP)
- Lead the end-to-end planning and forecasting process while adhering to corporate timelines thus ensuring enough time is allocated to the business to work on and provide their inputs, run financial models, and host post review sessions with key business stakeholders for final alignment
- Manage the team’s preparation of monthly KPI and Financial reporting packages, including commentary of results, bridges/waterfalls and PowerPoint slides
- Translate key performance metrics into financial implications to identify areas of risks and opportunities; prepare concise insights and present findings to leadership teams and peers
- Continue to innovate and expand on key performance metrics that encompass all major revenue accounts into the weekly scorecard review process
- Continue to improve the planning/forecasting process and financial models to provide the level of details required to identify key areas of concerns that need to be addressed and help with month-end commentary
- Lead the team to support various ad-hoc requests from finance, business, sales and product teams
- Manage and provide guidance to 2 direct reports to help them achieve their objectives and support their growth and development that align with their career goals
What you bring:
- University Degree and accounting/finance designation (MBA/CPA/CMA/CGA/CA/CFA) is required
- Strong financial background with 5-8 years of progressive experience within finance
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
- Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and modeling skills required
- SQL, Access and SAS skills for efficient data manipulation is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Financials and Essbase an asset
- Strong business acumen and Wireless / Cable industry knowledge / experience is an asset
- A strong track record of being able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritization of tasks, with a focus on quality and details
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for effective interaction with all levels of company management and personnel
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
