Mackenzie Financial Corporation is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Manager, Finance. Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for using financial analysis, forecasting, planning, and reporting to provide decision-making support to business leaders across Retail and Institutional business units at Mackenzie Investments.

The successful candidates’ specific responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and oversee the development of departmental forecasts and business plans. This role will be the Finance Business Partner supporting Retail and Institutional Distribution departments.
  • Provide, interpret, and communicate accurate management, financial and departmental reporting and in-depth analysis on a timely basis for decision-making
  • Liaise with key senior management to provide relevant financial business support, including pro-forma financials and product profitability.
  • Develop presentations communicating financial impact of key strategies/initiatives targeting executive audience
  • Develop financial models to support business decisions on various ad-hoc projects as required
  • Preparation of various accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis to maintain integrity of financial statements
  • Lead the design and approval of the annual commission plan in collaboration with HR and sales leadership
  • Work closely with Finance and operations personnel at all IGM companies
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts in Finance

The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:

  • Business degree, and/or CPA, MBA, or CFA designation
  • 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience within the financial services industry
  • Advanced financial and business modelling skills, including expert proficiency in Excel, VBA, Power Query and PowerPoint
  • Strong systems knowledge (ERP/SAP, consolidation and budgeting and data mining)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, statistics and corporate finance and proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines on an ongoing basis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
