Your Opportunity

BDO Canada’s National Office is seeking a Workday Optimization, Senior Specialist to play a pivotal role in our Innovation and Change team. You will utilize your knowledge of Workday Finance, serving as a Subject Matter Expert involved with projects that optimize our utilization of the Workday solution, ensuring the organization extracts maximum value from its capabilities. You will collaborate with various departments and teams across our entire business to make a significant impact on optimizing Workday usage. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous enhancement of our Workday deployment, supporting our business functions in achieving operational excellence. To be successful you will:

Collaborate closely with other Subject Matter Experts from various business units to identify areas for enhancement within our Workday deployment.

Translate identified opportunities into requirements and prototypes. Ensure a comprehensive understanding of business and technical objectives, securing alignment among stakeholders.

Cultivate an understanding of Workday’s features and capabilities, leveraging this knowledge to bridge product gaps and conceive innovative ideas that amplify the benefits derived from the Workday platform.

Support projects for the implementation of new features and improvements within Workday.

Strategically define and prioritize projects and initiatives, gauging their potential business impact. Skillfully evaluate issues by considering business objectives, technical complexities, user needs, and potential resolutions.

Foster strong relationships and effective communication channels with key internal and external stakeholders and sponsors. Proactively manage expectations and maintain a collaborative approach.

Collaborate seamlessly with our Workday Finance and Human Resources teams, ensuring harmonious alignment and synchronized efforts across functions.

Act as a central point of contact for coordinating, guiding, and advising teams on Workday-related best practices, ensuring standardization and optimization.

Your experience and education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Must have In-depth knowledge of Workday Finance, Workday Projects and/or Workday HRIS capabilities and functionality; Workday certification is a strong asset.

Experience with Workday Projects, particularly supporting projects related to Workday deployment and optimization.

Proven expertise in analyzing complex business processes and translating them into detailed requirements and prototypes.

Exceptional ability to prioritize effectively, considering both short-term objectives and long-term strategic goals.

Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of building and nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

Solid understanding of finance and HR processes, with prior experience collaborating with finance and HR teams.

High level of adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
