Department Overview

Tax Services is responsible for managing TDBG’s corporate tax matters including planning compliance reporting, strategy governance and liaising with revenue authorities.

Job Requirements

  • Accounting/finance degree
  • An accounting designation preferred
  • Completion or enrollment in the CICA in-depth tax course program or a Master’s Degree in Taxation is an asset
  • 2+ years of experience in tax compliance with a minimum 1 year of International Tax planning and compliance experience preferred
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly flexible and adapts quickly to changing priorities/deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analytical tools
  • The successful candidate must be organized, self-motivated, customer-oriented, and be able to work well independently and in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines
  • Ability to work in a hybrid office/home environment

Job Details

Reporting to a Senior Tax Manager in the International Tax team, the Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for International Tax planning, compliance, advisory and audits for certain TDBG foreign affiliates.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare BEPS Pillar Two tax calculations and reporting for Canadian, US and international subsidiaries of TDBG
  • Prepare and review foreign affiliate attribute computations including surplus, ACB and FAPI calculations
  • Collaborate with Canadian income tax compliance and Transfer Pricing teams to prepare and review T1134 and T106 information returns for TDBG foreign affiliates
  • Coordinate and assist other tax teams and business for planning opportunities, tax compliance issues and reporting involving international tax
  • Assist with technical tax analysis and planning of transactions impacting foreign affiliates of TDBG
  • Analyze and respond to International Tax related audit queries from Canadian tax authorities and external auditors.
  • Conduct research and technical analysis on various international tax matters
  • Provide routine tax advice where appropriate
  • Other ad hoc projects including process improvement initiatives
