Job description: Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Brampton, ON

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Finance

Position Overview

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Finance, Newell Brands Canada. Responsibilities include providing the support needed to deliver solid financial results and business analysis for the function. The primary responsibility will be to act as business partner to local Sales teams providing financial guidance and driving profitable growth in region. They will proactively identifying business risk and opportunities and raising them accordingly. This role will require active involvement in the month end, budget/planning, and forecasting process. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate financials, delivering timely analytics and business approvals, driving compliance with Corporate policy, while streamlining and implementing process improvements.

This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager. Responsibilities include providing the necessary support to deliver solid financial results and business analytics for the Marketing team. This role will require active involvement in the month end, budget, and forecasting process for the business unit, working very closely with cross functional Marketing partners.

Job Responsibilities:

· Maintain accurate P&L forecasts with variance commentary

· Track business risks and opportunities

· Month end closing journal entries

· G/L account reconciliations

· Support trade analytics and review of customer investments (pricing exceptions, promotions, programming etc.)

· Customer claims / rebate analysis and accounting

· Prepare customer and product line P&L’s

· Review customer & product margins / profitability with management

· Participation in monthly “Billing meeting” sales and operations reviews

· Maintain accurate departmental overhead expense forecasts with variance commentary

· Responsible for compiling monthly reporting

· Ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications:

· University Degree

· 8+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance field

· Accounting designation, CPA

· Solid Business acumen

· Ability to interact at all levels of the organization

· Superior teamwork and communication skills

· Proven self-starter

· Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

· SAP experience

· Oracle Hyperion Financial Management
