Reporting to the SVP, Retail Finance, the Sr. Director, Global Retail FP&A & Capital Management will oversee the development and evaluation of consolidated annual, quarterly, and monthly plans & forecasts for Nutrien’s Global Retail business units. At Nutrien, we are continually striving to provide data driven financial analytics to inform business decisions and capital allocation. This role will be accountable for leading initiatives to improve processes and drive faster, insightful decision support and management reporting. In addition, this role will have oversight for Global Retail capital allocation, including developing capital plans, evaluating investment business cases, and measuring overall capital efficiency.

What you will do:

  • Own the global consolidated Retail budgeting and forecasting processes, including creation of the annual and 5-year plans, as well as monthly forecasts
  • Oversee the setting of corporate financial targets and key performance indicators, as well as quarterly performance evaluation
  • Provide data-driven resolution support to inform strategic planning and investment decisions
  • Cultivate finance and business outcomes through efficient allocations of capital with data driven insights
  • Lead process initiatives to improve and automate forecasting and administration reporting
  • Provide financial decision support to an internal captive financing business unit
  • Perform look-back review to assess financial returns of capital investments relative to approved business cases
  • Monitor and assess overall capital efficiency, including sustaining, investing, and working capital
  • Oversight and coordination of capital governance processes to support Retail capital allocation decisions
  • As a leader, foster engagement through clarity, experience, impact, and recognition
  • Communicate and deliver key messages to executive and senior leadership teams, Board of Directors and other business leaders
  • Collaborate and reach alignment with peers and business partners across the Retail organization
  • Develop a high-performing team, aligned with the strategic priorities of the business
  • Provide support and feedback to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill development

What you will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent practical experience
  • Professional accounting or finance designation
  • 15+ years of related experience in a financial planning and analytics role, with a minimum of five years in a leadership role
  • Experience using business analytics to problem solve data-driven questions
  • Experience using SAP and SAP integrated business planning & forecasting tools considered an asset
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • The ability to develop relationships and interface with various levels of administration in a multi-task, deadline orientated, team environment
  • Thorough organizational skills with the ability to prioritize concurrent projects and deliverables
  • Exceptional guidance and interpersonal skills that facilitate a positive team environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills
  • Deep understanding of the Retail Ag industry business drivers and operating activities considered an asset

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
