Rogers is seeking a Senior IT Software Asset Analyst to assist in the day-to-day operational activities related to IT asset tracking and their financial components, including overseeing our managed service team and participating in project initiatives as required.
Reporting to the Manager of CMDB & Asset Services, this individual will ensure the overall data integrity of the Asset & Configuration Management databases and partake in the administration of the lifecycle of software and hardware assets by helping to mature the systems through project initiatives and process augmentation.
What you will be doing:
- Manage enterprise software license agreements ensuring alignment between entitlement and consumption
- Effectively manage software license optimization and serve as a subject matter expert on software licensing models
- Ensure software procurement and deployment processes are meeting project management needs
- Responsible for Software license management functions for all platforms
- Champion software harvesting with adherence to company policies
- Act as a bridge between IT Operations and Delivery and Procurement for all software license needs
- Manage governance meetings and touch points with vendors and other service providers on a regular basis
- Responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization (this includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts)
- Assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization
- Identify and close gaps in current ITAM (Information Technology Asset Management) processes as we transition and transform our infrastructure
- Develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles
- Responsible for ensuring that the ITAM/CMDB (Configuration Management Database) databases are maintained via day-to-day operations as well as work on continuous improvements and transition
- Ensure business requirements are clearly identified, prioritized and satisfied by appropriate technical and or business process solutions.
- Work as a key interface between users and procurement for IT HW/SW assets
What you will bring:
- Previous work experience and/or equivalent working knowledge of IT Asset Management processes and procedures
- Previous experience with managing Software license models of Microsoft, Oracle, VMware, Citrix, IBM, HP software is required
- Experience with ServiceNow service management and Oracle eBiz is preferred
- Solid high-level knowledge of infrastructure technologies including servers, databases, middleware and storage
- Understanding SaaS and Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, etc.) is beneficial
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office (especially excel) is required
- Good written and oral communication skills are necessary
- Proficient in ITIL service management processes, with practical knowledge and experience with ITIL based Asset/CMDB Management processes and tools
- Strong process management and control skills, using all resources efficiently and effectively
- A good understanding of project delivery lifecycles and project management practices
