Overview:

This role requires the incumbent to do hands-on work along with providing day-to-day leadership and direction to the members of the Finance and Administration, Information Technology, and Human Resources teams. (A group of 6-8 people with the expectation of mentoring). The scope of the finance aspect of this role includes accounting, reporting, budgeting, payroll, strategic planning, tax, cash management, legal matters, insurance, internal control, financial governance, risk assessment and IT systems.

Over time this role will assume the strategic and tactical leadership and become a leader in the senior management team

What you will be doing:

Provides the President with expert financial support and advice to assist in overall management of the business.

Provides overall financial leadership and direction and serves as a member of the senior management Team

Responsible for preparation of all financial reporting and budgets for the global companies of O’Hara including consolidated financial reporting.

Collaborates closely with senior leaders to achieve overall business plans.

Provides meaningful and forward-looking information, presentations, and financial analysis to senior leadership teams (including the Board of Directors) to support timely and effective decision-making including regarding product innovations and business strategies.

Determines KPI’s, business objectives, etc. in collaboration with the President; closely monitors and reports to the President regularly on these business metrics.

Oversees and directs completion of month-end and year-end procedures.

Assesses financial processes, systems and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.

Anticipates risks and detects any upcoming variances vs. budget; advises management and proposes corrective action.

Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business operations.

Ensures all statutory filings and reporting are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensures that internal controls and delegation of authority requirements are consistently communicated and adhered to.

Responsible for accurate and timely issue of various financial statements to executive management and for review by external parties.

Implements accounting and budgetary control strategies through appropriate policies.

Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the business and makes recommendations.

Cash management and overall management of banking relationships, in partnership with senior leadership.

Tax planning.

Key leader for all insurance-related aspects of the business.

Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new products/programs, strategies, and regulatory action.

Advances a strong and informed leadership point of view, supported by industry insights.

Lead the day-to-day Human Resources function of the company, including administration of the Group Health and Dental Benefits program, HR policies and programs administration and employee relations matters.

Lead the Information Technology function including infrastructure, internal/external securities, ERP integrity and future development.

Develops, supports, mentors, and engages direct reports.

Provides leadership in enabling a strong corporate culture in accordance with the corporate core values.

What you must have:

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership roles, within a related manufacturing environment

Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business; MBA an asset.

CPA designation or equivalent preferred.

Multi-entity and global experience.

Multi-currency experience.

Experience leading the IT function of a similar organization; highly tech savvy and able to work with internal and external IT resources to evaluate current systems, implement new technology and drive business excellence.

Experience leading the day-to-day Human Resources function of a similar organization; knowledge of workplace legislation and HR programs. (Benefits, payroll, Insurance)

Excellent leadership skills.

Solid experience in implementation and integration of a new ERP system

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

Highest level of ethics, integrity and dependability with a strong sense of commitment and urgency

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the business acumen to clearly present concepts and ideas to a wide audience, with the appropriate level of tact and diplomacy

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization; able to quickly gain credibility and trust.
