Job title: VP, Finance – Manufacturing – North York, ON

Job description: As the VP, Finance, you will strategize and manage the complete financial system for the company and oversee the financial aspect of any mergers, acquisitions, or corporate opportunities.

  • Take responsibility for all cash management, investments, insurance budgeting, and financial reporting to drive the company’s financial strategy
  • Coordinate development of annual operating and capital budgets for five global divisions
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure that the finance team is well-controlled yet flexible to the organization’s needs
  • Ensure the company is compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Engage external advisors when necessary to manage global taxation for the group
  • Work with external financing groups (Banks) to meet financing requirements, covenant needs
  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
  • Oversee payroll operations by coordinating with external service providers (payroll and benefits) and internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR
  • Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare for executive calls and management meetings
  • Manage finance and IT teams across divisions

An opportunity to be part of the Executive Leadership team|Assume responsibility for the global finance function

  • +5 years of experience in leadership roles – preferably at a medium-sized company
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree/MBA is considered an asset)
  • Experience at an accounting firm is preferred
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
  • International finance experiences an asset, but not required
  • Minimal travel expected
