Job description: Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2022 placement with a start date of May 2022, and end-date of August 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2022; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2022), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?
Working under the Credit and Enterprise Stress Testing team during Summer 2022 will provide valuable hands-on opportunity for co-op students to glimpse into the design and execution of large-scale enterprise-wide stress testing across the banking and trading books, with extensive exposure to all risk types identified within RBC’s Risk Pyramid.
What will you do?
- Produce key stress testing results under the supervisor of directors and senior directors in Credit and Enterprise Stress Testing
- Create presentation materials for senior risk committees, summarizing key results in a compact and impactful manner
- Liaise with key stakeholders from RBC Economics, Group Risk Management, Finance, and Corporate Treasury where necessary
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, in a business or quantitative field, such as finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics
- Previous exposure to financial risk management in a professional setting
- Some exposure to at least one programming language from SAS/Python/R
- Strong verbal and written communication, able to communicate with clarity and brevity
Nice-to-have
- Exposure to macroeconomics and econometrics
- Solid understanding of key banking products and primary risk drivers
- Exposure to financial and risk forecasts / predictive models
- Exposure to accounting of balance sheet and income statement of a bank
