We eliminate the pain that small business owners face through financial management and banking. Poor financial literacy has an outsized impact on the costs and failure rates amongst small businesses, especially among the marginalized and less fortunate, and we are on a mission to solve these problems. We are more than a banking platform – we are the world-class Finance Department that most small businesses could never afford.

Our product

NorthOne is a mobile, tech-powered account built for startups, freelancers, and small/medium-sized businesses (SMBs). We’re rebuilding business banking from the ground up. We ❤ customer operations. As a KYC Associate, you’ll conduct onboarding and enhanced due diligence reviews, and help us scale and iterate as we scale our product offerings! You’ll benefit from our incredible advisors and experienced management team, who have helped create and scale companies like Square, McKinsey, Google, Frank and Oak, Strava, Instacart, Prodigy, Oportun, eBay and more.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Please note: NorthOne’s KYC coverage window is seven days a week. This person will be expected to cover evenings and/or weekend shifts.

• Conducting application reviews and post-onboarding checks – you’ll help us add the right customers to our portfolio!

• Completing up to 75 reviews per day, you’ll build the story of each application as you review it.
• Working with our external partners that support our Compliance program.

• Be the point of contact for our banking partners by answering all inquiries relating to new NorthOne customers within 1 business day.
• Be a risk manager by using your on-the-ground knowledge to identify and highlight emerging areas of risk.

REQUIREMENTS

Today, you might be an Onboarding or KYC Specialist, KYC Operations Analyst, Compliance Coordinator or you might not have as much formal experience. The most important characteristic of our KYC Associate is your attitude – you are curious, detail-oriented, fast-paced, and determined, and believe in access to the financial ecosystem.

The skills required for this role –

• You have up to 1 year of experience working in Fintech or banking KYC operations – if you don’t have this experience, but you understand what KYC is and get giddy thinking about it, let’s talk anyway!
• You have an eye for detail when you’re conducting onboarding reviews quickly and accurately.
• You love being a voice for the customer and go above and beyond to create a positive customer experience.
• You love navigating ambiguity and are comfortable with the idea of informed risk taking – you know what you don’t know, but follow the risk in any given scenario.
• You’re curious and enjoy learning new things.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, geographically-distributed environment.
• You have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, as needed.

Bonus points –

• You’re familiar with business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, Periscope, Redash, Mode, etc).
• You have experience working with customers and building long lasting relationships.
• You have experience reviewing identity and business documentation.
• You’ve worked in a scaling startup (you are a fighter!)
