Accounting Analyst II

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue monthly invoices, including calculation of carbon/motor fuel taxes to include on invoice to customers
  • Prepare monthly revenue forecast and update toll rates when approved by Canadian Energy Regulator
  • Prepare analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and issue monthly joint venture billings
  • Complete the monthly settlement process and foreign exchange revaluation in SAP
  • Prepare the monthly AFDA analysis including analysis of the aging of accounts receivable
  • Respond to quarterly information requests from the Financial Reporting team to support quarterly financial statement note disclosure
  • Prepare data and supporting information for the quarterly/annual audit and liaise with the external auditors Address auditor’s questions and additional requests as needed for financial statements analysis
  • Collaborate with other groups and contribute to special Finance adhoc projects as required such as general ledger issues, determination of new account requirements, ensuring new accounting transactions are properly captured in the ledger, etc.
  • Support CGTM in transition to Oracle Cloud as a subject matter expert including testing and conversion as required
  • Assist in GAAP research for new transactions or businesses
  • Assists with documentation and effective operation of financial controls
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Audit Services, Financial Reporting, Corporate Internal Controls and external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX processes
