Job description: Job Summary: The Accounting Associate at SinaLite is responsible for the performing of the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The holder of this position must take the steps necessary to maintain lines of communication between members of the team. This position is vital to the success of the company and must ensure that the corporate strategies and goals are met and that the overall customer satisfaction provided by the organization is conducive to maintaining profitability.
You and your team are responsible for supporting the company vision and mission. Because you will be in contact with current and prospective stakeholders, and you are in a strong position to influence their satisfaction and our company prosperity, this position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Carrying out purchasing activities to ensure expenditures are approved, tracked, and recorded accurately in the company’s financial systems.
- Supplier selection, liaising and negotiating with new and existing suppliers to support purchasing goals
- Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures including open market purchasing and formal contracting and negotiating techniques.
- Data entry into the accounting system
- Manage reconciliation for intercompany, suspense, and petty expense accounts, including follow-up with outstanding unreconciled items.
- Reconcile credit cards and banks accurately and categorizing GL for month-end close process
- Reconcile payments, monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date, and assist with regular audits
- Prepare variance analysis and coordinate investigation and resolution into discrepancies with appropriate department managers
- Working with the finance team for the month end close process to generate detailed balance sheet and income statements and other financial reports.
- Drive towards improvement and automation of business processes to implement strong internal controls around cash, inventory, assets income and expenses
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- University degree or college diploma in an Accounting, Business or Financial field.
- Excellent knowledge of Accounting and financial principles.
- 3+ years of Purchasing & Accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy, and a dedicated work-ethic
- Strong critical thinking skills and able to creativity identify and solve problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to answer inquiries from vendors and employees across all departments.
- Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positive attitude.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Great teamwork skills.
