The Role

Orora Fresh (a division of Orora Packaging Solutions) is seeking a passionate Accounting Clerk to join our operations in Kingsville, Ontario.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the Regional Controller and Accounting department in their day to day activities including financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, internal audits and accounting records. In this role the Accounting Clerk will also assist in completing the month-end close, inventory reconciliation and record keeping. Additionally, some administrative work and support of the rest of Orora Fresh’s leadership team will also be expected.

What You’ll be Responsible For in this Role

  • Keep accurate accounting and financial records.
  • Assist the Controller to organize internal and external audits.
  • Manage and reconcile the cash accounts on a daily basis
  • Prepare correspondence (emails, memorandums, and letters) and create presentations from notes and research.
  • Organize and route incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Manages various vendor accounts for office (supplies and office equipment).
  • Answer the reception desk’s phone and redirect calls as needed
  • Handle confidential information and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform all responsibilities within the guidelines of corporate policies and directives at or above the company’s performance and evaluation standards.
  • Back up Accounting department personnel as needed.
  • Assign and/or complete special projects as directed by the Controller.
  • Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years accounting experience
  • Experience with SAGE 50 Quantum Accounting software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.
  • High proficiency in MS Office especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience completing month end close to include all general ledger entries
  • Experience completing month-end account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Experience working on accounts receivable and accounts payable problem accounts.
  • Ability to identify accounting problems/issue and come up with creative solutions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A hands-on, results-oriented approach to business with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Possess a ‘customer first’ attitude; demonstrate passionate commitment for the customer and product quality
