Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for optimizing and building out Contentfly’s accounting processes from the ground up. This role will be primarily accounting focused but have a visible role as a business partner to many teams. This individual will need to feel comfortable navigating a dynamic hyper growth organization.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be doing day to day…

• Month-End: oversee and execute the month-end closing process
• Implement: Lead the transition from cash-based accounting to US GAAP. Implement internal controls for company-wide processes and financial reporting. Evaluate the needs for new systems and processes, make recommendations and implement accordingly
• Collaborate: Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate our annual financial statement audit. Work closely with various internal teams to establish best practices that scale with our team.
• Financial Operations: Own the AP, AR and employee expense reimbursement processes. Design a scalable treasury process to manage payments via our platform. Establish a revenue recognition policy in accordance with ASC 606.
• Reports: Prepare quarterly financial reports to be presented to management, the Board and investors
• Tax: Oversee tax compliance, which includes sales tax and income tax for US- and Canada-based entities, R&D tax credits, etc.

Requirements

Your Experience and Intangible Traits:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager position will possess the following competencies:

• 5+ years of accounting experience, a combination of Big 4 and SaaS-based technology firms
• Deep understanding of US GAAP principles
• CPA designation preferred
• Strong knowledge of internal control methodologies & procedures
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with implementing systems and internal control procedures
• Highly analytical and willing to challenge the status quo
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across an organization and work cross-functionally to deliver results
• Hands-on approach and willing to roll up your sleeves
• Bachelor of science in accounting or finance (masters is a plus)
