Job description: Please note:

This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2022 placement with a start date of May 2022, and end-date of August 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2022; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2022), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

This is a great opportunity to join the Credit Risk Reporting (CRR) Program. The CRR Program sets foundation for improved quality and timeliness of Enterprise Level Credit Risk Reporting. It aims to improve alignment of numbers reported on different reports and report/analysis production timeliness including ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders. The CRR program comes with the vision of modernizing reporting infrastructure leveraging self-serve and mobile frameworks, driving operational and technological efficiencies and exploiting synergies with Data Management Capabilities. The coop will build solid understanding on RBC credit risk report at the enterprise level and gain extensive experience in business analysis, financial reporting, agile delivery, and data management, etc. They will also have lots of interactions with and exposures to Credit Risk Management function, Data Management office and Technology teams.

What will you do?

  • Identify coverage of current business metrics and establish scope and financial benchmark
  • Identify and summarize manual adjustments currently being implemented for automation
  • Assist in the write-up of CDE memos for critical risk reports
  • Prepare materials for program status tracking and updates

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Academic focus in business, finance, statistics, mathematics, or a quantitative discipline
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to think outside the box
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Expert in MS Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn and appetite for challenges

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge or experience of Risk Management and Credit Products
  • Familiarity with programming languages in SQL, Python, R, SAS, or Tableau
  • Minimum B+ GPA
