Why is this role important?
What You’ll Do:
- Completes analysis of Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Investigates and initiates resolutions when necessary.
- Supports the period end closing processes with Finance and completes journal entries when necessary.
- Provide cross training to colleagues, which includes creating / updating documentations
- Preparation of ad hoc analysis to support overall department objectives and initiatives
- Participates in the development and implementation of projects, policies and/or procedures, aimed at improving productivity for the department.
- Implements and monitor controls within the department to ensure compliance, including daily problem solving to ensure essential tasks are performed accurately and timely.
- Liaise with internal and external business units.
What You’ll Need:
- A minimum of 3 years of previous applicable industry experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Currently enrolled in an accounting designation program would be considered an asset
- Intermediate experience with spreadsheet applications, word documents and email (office suite)
- Ability to converse comfortably with business partners
- Highly motivated, professional attitude (business attire, communication with colleagues, positive attitude) professional demeanor
- Ability to implement required process improvement or transitioning new work
- Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Be flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner
- Strong/effective communication skills, both internal and external
- Manage time well and prioritize duties as well as multi-task.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
