This role will be primarily office based in Vancouver with flexible remote working subject to business requirements and workload.

The Opportunity – Analyst, Finance & Strategy (Graduate Trainee)

Are you a recent graduate looking for a long term career path? This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the growing Finance organization within Canada Drives.

As part of this role you will support the Finance leadership team, including the CFO, VPs and Directors in key projects ranging from financial planning and analysis, corporate development,
treasury, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integration and other strategic finance initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Participate in a range of projects across the Finance organization, providing support to senior management and other team members
  • Support senior management on the development of financial analysis, working with our financial reporting data and financial models
  • Perform ad hoc analysis including data pulls from our key systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Tableau, etc. and present this information in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets)
  • Support the analysis of department and operating segment results and compare to monthly, quarterly and yearly plans and budgets
  • Coordinate key stakeholder and project meetings, taking responsibility for scheduling meetings, communicating and documenting agenda items, recording minutes and meeting actions and following-up on key deliverables
  • Support project teams with establishing and documenting current processes and procedures within the Finance organization and document these processes, including any improvements identified and implemented, into Atlassian Confluence
  • Demonstrate your attention to detail and critical thinking by presenting opportunities for improvement and efficiency across the Finance organization
  • Other ad hoc tasks as assigned

What you will bring to the role:

  • This is an entry level position, therefore any relevant experience (including internship programs) in finance are considered an asset, but not a requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Excellent verbal, written and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to respond and effectively prioritize multiple priorities and requests
  • Strong critical thinking skills in order to identify issues, seek information, and problem solve
  • Positive attitude with a readiness to learn and a passion for process improvement
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and have the perseverance to thrive in a dynamic work environment
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce, Tableau, Confluence and other relevant financial and business software are an asset
