About the Role

The Associate Director, Finance and Administration provides professional advice, assistance and problem resolution relating to the budget, financial operations, and capital projects for Athletics and Recreation. The Associate Director leads the annual budget planning and internal and external financial reporting processes for all units. As a member of the senior management team, the Associate Director participates in the development of strategic objectives for financial and human resources planning and infrastructure development.

The ideal candidate acts with integrity, is self-aware, emotionally intelligent, respectful, inclusive and makes good judgment. The role requires an effective communicator, with an ability to plan, prioritize and project. The ideal candidate is innovative and focused on results, drawing on multiple sources of information to achieve and enhance operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) and five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Providing organizational leadership for financial, operational, human resource and administrative matters within Athletics and Recreation.
  • Managing and administering the department’s operating and capital budgets.
  • Advising and consulting on financial implications of new ventures, exploring alternative funding methods, costing models and analysis of revenue.
  • Advising and consulting on risk management related issues and proposing strategies in revising and/or creating risk management protocols
