Job description: Position Summary… The Senior Manager, Format Development will serve as the key finance business partner for the Format Development team and is responsible for P&L forecasting, Budgeting and Long-term planning of all non labour SG&A for store operations. This role will be responsible for understanding key buckets of spend across business units relating to Maintenance and Repairs, Utilities, Supplies, and Insurance among other things. Accountable for performance management, identification of opportunities and will work closely with strategic sourcing and the operations finance team to achieve this goal.
What you’ll do…
1. Business Decision Support for Format Development including day to day trade-off decisions, capital investments, and other special projects.
2. Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting: Responsible for all forecasting, month-end results management and planning activities associated with all store non-labour SG&A accounts including M&R, utilities, supplies, insurance and others.
3. Management Reporting & KPI’s: Develop actionable management reporting, dashboards, KPI’s and variance analysis by partnering with the FM Leadership team
4. Financial Transformation: Collaborate and support initiatives that drive automation by participating in the roadmap that optimize financial systems and processes including visibility tools and new, simplified ways of working with business partners.
5. Work with Regional leaders to assess performance post store opening, refresh, remodel, etc. and work with cross functional teams to identify and implement corrective action as needed.
6. Lead (with direction from Sr Director) the LRP process by aligning targets with lead business partner and creating operational building blocks based on trends and planned strategic change. Influence the business on enablers required to deliver against the goals and proactively partner on identifying alternatives based on known risks or gaps.
7. Drive associate engagement by valuing associates, listening and responding to concerns, recognizing and rewarding accomplishments and providing opportunities for growth and development.
8. Lead a team who have responsibility for store non-labour SG&A accounts forecasting, planning and business partnering
Qualifications:
CPA preferred and/or MBA
5-7 years related experience
Skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation & problem-solving skills – ability to influence and partner with business leads
Result oriented and critical thinking – high sense of ownership
Strong organization skills, able to meet conflicting deadlines
Proficient to advance level in Excel and experience in complex modelling
Previous systems experience (SAP, Onestream) or strong interest to learn
Previous people management experience is an asset
