Co-op/Intern, Wholesale Fixed Asset Accounting (Calgary, AB or Saskatoon, SK Canada)
This fulltime position will begin in January 2024 for a 12-month term. Part-time training and on-boarding during the first 2 weeks of December 2023 would be preferred.
Reporting to Manager Wholesale Fixed Assets, Financial Business Services, the Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for multiple tasks within the Fixed Asset function
What you will do:
Assists with capital orders creation and management
Assists with the compilation of data for Fixed Assets Balance Sheet and Income Statement variance analysis
Support Month-end deliverables
Assists with the creation of quarterly reviews and reports sent to Corporate
Assists with Statutory surveys and accounts reconciliations
Assists the Tax Department with year-end data mining
Participate in multiple ad hoc asset related projects
Perform other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
Highly detail oriented
Self-Motivated
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong integrity and business ethics
Ability to lead by example and work well with others
Third- or Fourth-Year University student in Accounting
Strong Excel skills required
Fixed Asset experience would be an asset
ERP system experience with either Oracle or SAP would be an asset
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
Detail oriented, self-starter, able to work without regular supervision
Strong customer service attitude; team player; strong desire for knowledge; adaptability
Working understanding of IFRS rules
