Job title: College Director of Finance

Job description: The Director of Financial Services is primarily responsible for providing leadership, support, and direction to the financial operations of the College in accordance with the College’s strategic directions.

This position is located in Windsor, ON.
18 -22 Month contract with opportunity for extension.
Salary CND $100,000 to $130000

Planning & Organizing

  • Managing the Finance divisions operating and capital budgets.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for the Administration Team and the Board of Governors.
  • Coordinating and directing external audit processes including liaising with external auditors and preparing documentation for the Auditing Committee and the Board of Governors.
  • Administering and directing the capital proposal programs funded by the Ministry.
  • Collaborating with Senior Management in the development and allocation of the total College budget.

Process Re-engineering

  • Planning, organizing, and conducting ongoing reviews of procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Implementing modified processes to enhance efficiency and reduce non-value-adding processes.

Financial Information Systems Development

  • Liaising with the users of financial information to ensure that the design and controls meet College needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and government laws and regulations.
  • Providing assistance to staff and management as required.

Administering Financial Contracts and Managing Compliance:

  • Participating in the development of new financial initiatives, modifying operations, and adapting new service offerings.
  • Maintaining communication with all areas of the College, Ministry of Colleges and Universities, auditors, and bankers.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Canada Revenue Agency regarding payroll, taxes, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA designation is required
  • 9+ years of experience in a senior financial management position
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency payroll and commodity tax legislations
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and human relations skills
  • Advanced analytical and computer skills
  • Experience reporting and presenting information to varying groups at all levels
