As a fast-growing group at Volaris Group, we are looking for a strong and growth-oriented finance leader to join our group and help support organic and M&A strategy and growth of our groups of businesses as we look to expand our portfolio by 2-3 acquisitions per year. You will report directly to the Group CEO and be a key part of the group leadership team to drive organic and M&A growth of our growing groups of businesses and be a key partner to the Group CEO to support defining and executing the growth strategy alongside the rest of the leadership team. You will be working with groups business units to improve reporting and internal finance systems/processes and will also support with M&A activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business units to ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of financial deliverables/reporting for month/quarter/year-end close in accordance with IFRS, while adhering to tight timelines
  • Build out financial reporting processes
  • Responsible for intercompany transactions and transfer pricing documentation
  • Maintain and enhance accounting information systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Act as a strategic commercial finance advisor for group businesses, utilizing financial analysis, modeling, and insights to support decision-making and drive profitable growth
  • Analyze management reports, monitoring and enforcing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify issues, opportunities, and emerging trends for business partners
  • Ownership and execution of ‘Quarterly Strategic Review’ (QSR) process, using extensive Excel modeling, pipeline and costs analysis to prepare a robust forecast
  • Support multiple financial/accounting integration projects related to new acquisitions as required
  • Contribute to M&A activities by providing financial analysis and due diligence support
  • Identify areas for improvement in newly acquired business reporting practices and lead the implementation of consistent reporting in line with corporate requirements
  • Act as a business partner to the group manager and senior leadership teams of businesses in the group in supporting their reporting needs and identifying potential areas for improvement
  • Report financial results and KPIs to portfolio leader including presentation of quarterly forecasts and explanation of variances between forecasts and actual results
  • Recommend and lead efforts to improve ROIC (return on invested capital) and/or growth performance
  • Coordinate all legal activities with Volaris Legal counsel as required
  • Apply best practices to processes, people and systems to affect revenue, profitability and cash-flow, to improve operating efficiency and performance
  • Responsible for Risk Management process review, policy standardization and process improvements

THE PERSON

  • CPA designation required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting with Professional Accounting Designation
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial experience in a leadership role and managing a team
  • Software industry experience an asset
  • Prior M&A experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Works collaboratively by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Great Plains and BPC consolidation software an asset
  • Ability to travel internationally (up to 25%)
  • Having working experience in different countries is an asset
  • Multi-lingual is an asset (i.e. French, Chinese, Spanish), not required
