The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all staff members in the accounting department, perform fiscal and budget analysis, postings, develop financial statements, reports and project proposals. This position will report into the General Manager and be responsible for communicating costing, cash flow and financial analysis of operating results. Your Responsibilities:

  • Support financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing current policies and procedures
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
  • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Monitor and confirm financial position by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all internal and external accounting functions
  • Complete reviews of monthly bank reconciliations, foreign exchange translations, prepaid expense entries, depreciation expense and accrual entries as required (audit, tax, payroll, expenses, royalties, etc.)
  • Maintain a reconciliation of prepaid expenses and related general ledger account
  • Help maintain a reconciliation of capital asset balances and related general ledger accounts
  • Monitor and review all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and payroll
  • Prepare various financial statements and reports by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends
  • GST/HST/QST Administration including filing sales tax returns, reconciliation of sales tax returns with general ledger accounts and providing support for CRA audits as required
  • Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices, developing recommendations
  • Support the annual budget process and direct the preparation of budget reports

Your Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related program
  • CPA designation
  • Experience with full cycle account, payroll, and management reporting
  • Experienced with QuickBooks, MacOS, proficient in Excel and MS office
  • Ability to work both in a self-directed manner and as a team player within a small company
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Experienced managing a team of individuals
