Job title: Freelance Bookkeeper

Job description: We are currently looking to hire a full-time Bookkeeper to join our clients’ growing team!

The bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the company by accurately recording the day-to-day financial transactions of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Check and verify source documents such as invoices and receipts

Entering contractor invoices into Quickbooks (desktop version) on a monthly basis

Reconciling the Business Credit Card and Bank Statements (for CDN and USD)

Entering incoming receivables/client payments (through EFT, e-transfer and U.S. wire transfers).

Responsible for collections of outstanding A/R (anything over 30 days), and preparing monthly A/R report

Preparing quarterly HST report for remittance

Preparing year-end corporate tax reports

Sending account statements to clients (upon their request)

The estimated monthly time commitment for this role is approx 4 – 10 hours per month, which could be more or less depending on how much A/R is required and whether it is an HST reporting month or not.

This work will all be done REMOTELY (from your home/office).

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post-secondary education, such as a Diploma in Accounting, required
  • Certification in Quickbooks Desktop is considered an asset
  • Self-employed with Ontario Business Number required
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Use of software, such as QuickBooks (desktop) and MS Office Suite, required
  • Ability to operate with discretion and under limited supervision, seeking direction when needed
