Job description: What is the opportunity?

Strengthen Risk and Capital Regulatory reporting with cutting edge technology, management controls, and intuitive workflows – with overall objective of improving quality of the data required for across organization Regulatory Reporting.

The US – Regulatory Risk IT team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve technology management and architectural governance across organization for US regulatory reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing existing Argus Reporting Portal platform with current cutting edge technology stack and enabling digitalization of the reporting platform across mobile, tablet devices via cloud integration. The role also provides management and guidance to development and QA team in choosing good coding practices, configurations and accelerating niche user experience while interacting with the Argus portal.

The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.

What will you do?

  • Provide Leadership to Development and QE team across all SDLC requirements and deployment processes
  • Manage work to virtualize existing data where applicable and materialize derived data sets
  • Responsible for REST API Layer creation which provides data to UI and other downstream consumers
  • Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner. Monitor and control activities according to plan.
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate
  • Develop and execute on end to end change management plans and plan and execute all communication related to these.
  • Collaborate, Communicate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.

What you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as system developer within Finance domain
  • Possesses a working knowledge of SDLC, Agile delivery methodologies and Dev Ops
  • Strong working knowledge of UI development using ReactJS or AngularJS, MVC framework, Python and Big Data implementations
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice to have:

  • Risk Reporting experience (desired)
  • .Net platform experience (C#, .NetCore, Visual Studio) is a plus
  • Self-motivated and pro-active with proven ability to work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines
