Are you eager to learn and excel in your position as an Accounting Technician? Our client located on the South Side of Edmonton is looking for an accounting technician that will go into the office. This is a well-established organization. This client is eager to have someone on their team as soon as tomorrow. If you love accounting, this might be the right opportunity!

• Maintaining and updating financial records in an organized manner
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing basic financial statements
• Recording journal entries
• Calculating paycheques for tax and related bills
• Completing and submitting tax remittance forms such as T4 slips
• Performing other bookkeeping duties
• Implementing internal controls that protect client’s assets
• Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Skill in the use of computers and various software programs
• Strong A/P background
• Some A/R experience would be a asset
• Experience with collections would be a asset
• Knowledge of general accounting practices, principles, and procedures
• 5 years experience with Financial accounting
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic NAV software is a asset
• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting
• Ability to read, interpret and apply established internal rules, procedures, and policies
• Ability to track, collect, analyze and reconcile accounting data
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, employees, agency officials, and surrounding departments
• Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate work activities
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate financial records
