Job Purpose:

As an Inventory Control specialist, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing inventory management across three warehouses, each housing approximately 14,000 items. You will be responsible for reducing excess inventory, helping to eliminate obsolete stock and improving overall warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Analysis:
  • Conduct thorough analyses of inventory data, including stock levels, turnover rates, and demand patterns, to ensure accurate insights into the company’s inventory health.
  • Regularly review and update inventory records to reflect accurate quantities and locations, addressing discrepancies promptly.
  • Use advanced analytical tools and software to identify trends and anomalies in inventory data, enabling proactive decision-making.
  • Demand Forecasting:
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to gather market intelligence and customer demand information.
  • Continuously refine forecasting models (in collaboration with Purchasing department) to enhance accuracy and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Inventory Optimization:
  • Determine optimal inventory levels for each product category, balancing the need for product availability with cost containment.
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates and take proactive steps to reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock.
  • Inventory Accuracy:
  • Review and approve routine cycle counting and physical inventory processes to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Investigate discrepancies in inventory records, conducting root cause analysis to identify the source of errors.
  • Reporting:
  • Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide key insights into inventory performance, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in inventory management and supply chain operations.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure that all inventory management practices and procedures adhere to company policies and relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with the compliance and legal teams to address any regulatory or compliance issues related to inventory.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in inventory control and management.
  • Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills allowing you to work seamlessly with all stake holders.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive reports along side strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data while making informed decisions.
  • Relentlessly challenges the status quo to ensure new ideas are explored while influencing cross-functional teams to drive change.
  • Keen self-awareness and alignment with a workplace culture that is built on humanistic values and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
  • Bilingual French/English (verbal and written) is an asset.
  • Adept and interested in understanding business needs and working to achieve the company’s goals.
  • Self-starter with strong problem solving skills who can perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective in managing priorities and working time.
